Abbaye Notre-Dame de Senanque

May 22, 2016 | late afternoon

Abbaye Notre-Dame de Senanque is a working abbey still occupied by Cistercian monks outside of Gordes. It’s famous for it’s lavender fields, that run right up to the weathered stone Abbey. While we didn’t visit during the the lavender bloom, we were treated to an overcast day that created a nice soft light highlighting the rows of lavender.
