After months of dallying I'm pleased to announce the public unveiling of redinkphotography, a photoblog that I hope can share some of the joy and pseudo spiritualness I gain from carrying that heavy camera around (and for those of you who have had to sit by and wait while I take just one last picture...hopefully you will find it worth it now).

The name of my photoblog is fotagrafaiocht, which the internet tells me means photography in Gaelic...that or I just insulted your mom and if so I apologize. At the moment fotagrafaiocht is geared towards photography (hence the name), though in the future I hope to add travel stories and music links. As it stands the site still needs some work, not happy with how the archive and sets flow, but I could spend weeks working on that. So, if you find something that doesn't look quite right there's a good chance I'm tweaking something (good excuse huh).

Within the site there are a few things I'd like to point out.

Enjoy an image but think…this would be even better supersized (aka large). Well, you’re in luck, underneath the picture there is a View Large button which will take you to a blown up version of the picture. Just hit the back button to return to the previous page.

Comments are there for you to use and enjoy. Just think...your very own chance to be published on a website. Like a picture? Hate a picture? Want to point out that I missed dinner with you, post it in comments. As of right now I "approve" all comments. This doesn't mean I'm filtering comments, it's a precaution against blog spam. Yes, blog spam. Apparently folks have nothing better to do than spam the comment sections of blogs. I may change this, haven't decided yet. Deal with it, the world can wait a few hours for me to get around approving your comments.

Whose Visited is a slick little tool that pinpoints where folks have visited from (was pretty cool to see someone from Norway had visited the site!). For those security conscious I have checked and it doesn't give out a name or pinpoint your house, but a general area. If you find differently let me know immediately.

Flickr Gallery is a link to my flickr gallery, which includes additional pictures (though less commentary in the future). If you are a member of flickr add me as a contact and let me know, I'd love to see your photos as well! For those of you unfamiliar with flickr it is a great photosharing website. Don't get too excited by the pro description next to my name...that just means I give them money for more storage.

And lastly, for those who just can't wait to see my next update there are two options. One, you could manically hit refresh every few seconds (and get professional help) or send me an email and ask to be added to my notification list. When I make an update to the site you'll get notified via email (or I guess I could call you) with a link. You may need to add my email, sean (at) redinkphotography (dot) com to your safe list for this to work, not sure if a junkmail/spam filter will block the message.
