As Summers Turns To Fall
I love fall, the crisp chilly morning air as the days grow shorter and cooler. The vibrant colors of trees as they come alive…somewhat ironic when you consider they are shedding their leaves for the upcoming cold winter. One last glorious burst until the cycle starts again next spring. For the last few years [...]
Eastern Sierras
We hiked through the Eastern Sierras so you didn’t have to. What an amazing and spectacular place.

Crescent Moon Over Lake Sabrina
As summer comes to a close we’ve been lucky enough to make a few quick road trips (which means I have a big backlog of photos to go through!). We recently took Sierra on her first ever trip to her namesake, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, in this case specifically up CA 395 to Lake Sabrina [...]
Sequoia Trail
Another great turnout at the August Fullerton Art Walk. Thanks to all of you who stopped by to show your support (and a special thanks to those of you who purchased some of my work!). We will have to hit the pavement and find a new location for the upcoming art walks, but Unity Salon [...]
August 6th – Fullerton Art Walk
Fullerton Art Walk
For those of you not following our facebook page (and why aren’t you?)
I will be participating in the Fullerton Art Walk on Friday, August 6, 2010. Photos from my series, Scenes of India, will be exhibited at Unity Salon during the Art Walk, and for the entire month of July.
Date: Friday, August 6, 2010
Time: 6pm – [...]
Wrought Iron
One of my favorite parts about New Orleans is the weathered wrought iron you find all over the city. In front of buildings, along courtyards, in the cemeteries…beautiful, distressed, aging wrought iron. During our trip to the crescent city we spent a lot of time walking through various neighborhoods, I’d walk by a building, wrought iron [...]
Southern Utah
So, maybe I’m a little behind, we did get back close to two months ago…but here are some photos from our trip with Ace, Michael, and Genghis, backpacking through Southern Utah. Photos were shot with a Canon G9, still not entirely used to using my small handheld to take large landscape photos…in the middle of [...]
Zion Watchman in Black and White
Been interesting using Photomatix Pro on some of the photos from our trip to Zion National Park. The image above is an HDR compilation of three photos (regular exposure, +2 exposure, -2 exposure). I then converted the image to black and white using Silver Efex Pro.

Bryce Canyon National Park at Sunrise
Bryce Canyon National Park, in Utah, is simply stated, an absolutely fantastic landscape. Along the many overlooks amazing hoodoos stretch for miles and miles, prime examples of how ice, water, and erosion can carve rock and create spectacular vistas. Images of Bryce have spurred the imagination for years, so much so that years ago a [...]
Returning to Normal
It’s been a whirlwind month, between our travels through Southern Utah and then returning just in time to finish packing and then move across town…not to mention being without internet (or tv!) for the first week in our new place. Yes, boxes still litter the landscape (especially seeing as Sierra had a grand old time [...]
Zion Canyon at Sunset
We’ve successfully returned from Southern Utah (with a quick stop off in Las Vegas)…and we’ve had to dive right in to moving this week. So updates are still going to be light while we get squared away in the new place. But I wanted to stop moving boxes for a few minutes this afternoon and [...]
Backpacking through Southern Utah

We’ve returned from our backpacking trip through the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Southern Utah. We cut the trip a day short due to the 50 mph winds that are howling through the area at the moment. Tough to find a place hide in the middle of a slickrock canyon, so we kicked it [...]
Highway 12 and the Grand Escalante

Day 3 -
Yes, the plan was to wake up early and catch sunrise at Bryce Canyon National Park…we woke up at 5am, got dressed, opened the door…and a downpour started. One of those big nasty just crawl back in to bed downpours…so we did. We awoke 90 minutes later, redressed, and made it to Bryce [...]
Zion Canyon and the Virgin River

Day 2
The plan was to wake up early and catch the sunrise. Reality was a little different as we got a late start (around 8am) and caught the shuttle in to Zion National Park. Dropped off at the Grotto, we started up the strenuous Angel’s Landing trail (2.5 miles/1800 elevation gain). We worked our way [...]
Watchman Zion National Park

Day One -
Arrived in Springdale, Utah, just outside of Zion National Park. Staying at the fantastic Majestic View Lodge, which for the price is a great place to stay just outside of the park border. Tonight’s agenda, catch the setting sun throwing light on the iconic Watchman Peak. We had a nice walk along the [...]
Reinventing the Past
Someone mentioned to me the other day that it was interesting to go back and look at old photos, because you see how much you’ve grown in your abilities. And there is a measure of truth to that statement…but other times it’s interesting to go back through some old photos…to find something you may have [...]
Point Conception

During our stay in Jalama Beach, we decided we would take a nice long hike south, along the California coastline to Point Conception. Andree had done some research and found out by leaving the campground and heading south along the beach for 6 or so miles, we would find a small path that lead us [...]
The Setting Suns
We had a few days with nothing on the calendar and we’ve both been itching for a road trip, so we packed up the car and took Sierra on her first camping trip. 5 hours later (love the LA traffic) we arrived in quaint Jalama Beach just south of Vanderburg AFB along the Pacific Ocean. [...]
A New Orleans Tale
I’ve been thinking a lot about New Orleans lately. In part because we recently visited the city, but also due to the premier of Treme on HBO last weekend. Treme focuses on the city of New Orleans post Katrina and is produced/directed by the same crew responsible for The Wire, one of the best shows [...]
100th Post
Wow, it’s hard to believe that this is my 100th post for the new blog/website. I’m not sure I had 100 posts total with the last blog setup, I’m on a roll!
The photo above is from Agra, on the road to the Taj Mahal, taken from our tour van. The skewed angle highlights the size [...]
French Quarter
I’ve put together a set of photographs, aptly enough called Doors, Windows, and Balconies that highlights some of the fascinating buildings and sights of the Crescent City.

Rebirth
Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter Sunday, I have the pleasure of shooting Annika and Aiden in their first ever Easter Egg hunt today, good times.
Continuing with the Doors, Windows, and Balconies theme from the other day, here are two additional photos from the set.
The first photo (2336) is from an abandoned [...]
Doors of New Orleans
One of the fascinating things about New Orleans is the amazing buildings and architecture throughout the city, especially in the French Quarter and Garden District. During our 5 days we walked up and down the streets of New Orleans, miles and miles, in part looking for interesting signs and doorways. They really are amazing, [...]
