Agra Fort

God Rays At Agra Fort

I’ve finished the editing and the first proof of the book, Scenes of India, is being printed and should be delivered in the next few days. The above photo, taken at Agra Fort in India is one of the included photos. After reviewing the book I’ll make it available for purchase and I’m sure it will rocket up the New York Times Bestseller’s list in no time! It was an interesting process, one I definitely learned a few lessons…like try and down select images before final edits!

Some news and notes from around the photography webscape

  • For you iphone photo junkies, Adorama photo is holding an iphone photo contest. Details here.
  • Laura Heald penned a guest blog for Scott Kelby last week, the description of the amount of prep work (and number of cameras!) Bill Frakes uses at the Kentucky Derby is absolutely amazing.
  • Joe McNally reminisces covering Mark McGwire and the home run record chase. He had a blurb that really struck a chord with me

But you gotta take risks during a coverage like this. For a mag like the Times, you are not there just covering. The wires do that, and do it well. You’re supposed to come up with something nobody else is looking at, which is hard to do when every swing is being seen by several million people.
