Rumor has it, a young girl uttered those immortal words before leaving to Bodie, California. The land of riches and dreams for some, and hell for others. One of the best preserved ghost towns in California, if not the United States, Bodie is a California State Historic Park in the Basin Range just south of Bridgeport, California along Highway 395.

We've had a glorious few days at Virginia Lakes, hiking the Sierra Nevada Mountains, photographing mountain peaks and frozen/unfrozen lakes...trudging through snow...getting lost with a whacked out GPS. Not to mention some pathetic attempts at fishing, sunset over Mono Lake from Conway Summit...and then to top it all off Andree says, you've always wanted to go to Bodie, let's stay an extra day, find somewhere cheap to stay in Mammoth, and let's go. So, "Good, By God, We're Going to Bodie"!

So, now we sit basking in the glory of offseason Mammoth, sipping a few beers, and ready to head back to reality (and going through hundreds of photos!).
