Hola, from our lovely rooftop balcony at the lovely Hotel La Tortuga in Playa Del Carmen. Tropical Storm Alberto brought in the angry sea, keeping most of the boats ashore. But, none the less, it has been a fabulous first day in Mexico. The hotel is absolutely stunning, the sea a beautiful turquoise blue, and Playa Del Carmen is a charming little beach town. This morning was spent sunning up in the jacuzzi, and a lovely walk through town and along the beach...including the requisite stop for some cerveza and tequila. Usually it takes a day or two to decompress and get in vacation mode...definitely not the case here.

Pretty amazing when you think about it...a few hours after taking this picture we are sitting on the balcony, drinking a beer, and uploading photos to a blog...
