Spent the weekend in San Diego, after the horrible fires last week we were tempted to cancel, but the Pogues were still playing and the hotel was being difficult about canceling our prepaid reservations. Add in the fact I had purchased a new Canon G9 to take on quick trips...well we decided to go anyways and had a great time. The hotel was gorgeous, right on Harbor Island with views of the marina, bay, and downtown.

The early morning sun cast soft light, and the still water reflected the fascinating patterns created by the boats lined up in the docks. The G9 won't replace the 5d, but it's a nice point and shoot to have when lugging down the camera gear isn't necessarily feasible.
