Today is Independence Day in India, the 60th Anniversary of free rule. Huge celebrations throughout the city. The plus side...day off from work! The downside, we've been requested not to venture out and about because of security concerns (and mostly because traffic is supposed to be a nightmare with checkpoints all over the city). So, it's a nice quiet morning, but we are going to visit a friend's house later today and I have a feeling he'll take us out and about to a few places if we ask. I'm hoping we can see some of the famed kite flying/fighting that occurs today.
