Up at 500, out the door by 530, hiking through the dark and the rock fields to be in place as the sun rises...only to find two people there already! But they were nice enough to share. Jumping off a rock, losing my balance, and falling backwards to bang the back of my head...ouch....that will leave a lump (though not too bad). Hiking through the early summer heat to location scout...and finding out you are on the wrong trail! Damn BLM land...they never mark anything! But along with the annoying, it was a great day hanging out in the Hills.

Here's a shot from late in the day as the sun is about to go down over Mt. Whitney and the Eastern Sierra's...the Inyo Mountains can be seen in the background.
