I woke up Saturday morning a little bummed that a trip to Vegas for the weekend fell thru. What to do? It was a gorgeous day and I'd just been lecturing someone how they should take more roadtrips...when an idea sprung. Road Trip! So I quickly packed up the camera bag, grabbed the IPOD, and leashed up the dog. 4 short hours later (damn Southern California traffic!) I was sitting along the shores of Salton Sea at Bombay Beach.

Bombay Beach was once targeted to be a resort along the Salton Sea. But after flooding, rising lake levels, and other various mishaps, it has become an economically depressed park that due to it's surreal nature, and abandoned trailers which have sunk partially in to the ground, is a mecca for photographers. During my visit two additional groups of photographers showed up to snap a bit of history as well.
