After a wonderful day touring Aberfoyle we decided to head to Callander, a small town in the Trossachs. Callander was a quaint little town with a lot of charm. Browsing through the travel books we found a b&b that sounded pretty cool, Roman Camp. And as luck would have it we couldn't find it. So, we stopped off in the local tourist office and tried to collect some information on where to stay. And what is the first place they mention? Roman Camp of course...including a special deal for the night. So we booked a room, visited town (failed in our attempt to find a "Scottish" Santa Claus, and checked in. Great place, small 20 room country house back off in the woods near the river. And bonus...the first friggen time we had a good meal in Scotland, a 4 star restaurant...where we were the only patrons! Talk about service, including some specielties the chef cooked up for us. Tomato jelly...not quite what you'd expect it to be. Great night all around.
As for the photo, taken along a small road between Aberfoyle and Callander as the sun was going down. The photo was pretty blown out so I figured a black and white conversion would be a good thing.
