Up close and personal with Badwater Road in Death Valley National Park. I've always loved road shots, especially taken from the perspective of the road as you follow the yellow divider line as it fades off in to the horizon. Unfortunately you don't get a lot of chances to shoot those type of shots on the 405. Not that you can walk away from.

But the middle of the desert during the offseason? Whole different story! One of the benefits of visiting the national parks during the offseason is the lack of crowds allowing you to lie in the middle of the road trying out various experiments, angles, apertures, etc. And the plus side...the asphalt was softer than the sun baked death valley floor!

Though I would suggest not trying this shot at home, while I'm not a trained professional I did have a lookout...who of course was taking the same shots and most likely not paying attention either.
