The utata project this week was to shoot an image "filtered" through something else...thusly it's called utata filtered.

I was struggling on what I could do for this project while I was staring at some Christmas lights I wasn't going to hang up. I then remembered some clear cellophane wrapping paper with purple snowflakes...and an idea was born. I could a)participate in the project and b) shoot a holiday theme and then I couldn't be accused of being a total grinch this holiday season seeing as I wasn't planning on shooting anything holiday related.

Shots were taken of christmas lights through the cellophane wrapping paper with purple snowflakes.

It was also an interesting experiment in focus and dof. Most of these shots were taken from approximately the same distance with the only difference a change in aperture (and corresponding change in shutter speed) and focus point. There are about 100 shots from this set but I won't bore you with all of them.

More shots from this set are available here.
