The red rock walls in Zion National Park soar thousands of feet straight up from the canyon floor. This shot gives a sense of how the rock and textures change throughout the day depending on light. The front rocks bathed in light take on an orangish brown glow, with the side lighting bringing out texture and depth...while burning out some of the color shifts. On the shadowed side of the canyon you can't see the depth or texture, but the walls take on a deeper red/orange color and various bands of color laid down by sediment over the millenniums can be seen. I don't know why I bring this up, other than I didn't feel like just posting a picture and saying see ya.
