Angels Landing is a rock cropping thousands of feet up in the middle of Zion National Park. There is a small plateau before you take the final harrowing walk to the tip of Angels Landing. Most of the plateau is rock and dirt, exposed to the Utah desert and winds. But right at the edge there is a tree, a tall glorious tree that has found a way to live. It's roots exposed and stretching across the rock searching for water, standing tall. It's amazing to see just how life finds a way, how in the most desolate inhospitable place life will find a way.
In other news, I've just finished a massive cataloging project! 12,000 some odd photos tagged, rated, and stored. If I want to find all web copies of 3 star images of waterfalls...boom...there they are. If I want to link to the master files...another click. Good times. What's this mean to you? Well, probably nothing. But if will make my life a helluva lot easier and should enable me to update the site on a regular basis.
Off to Las Vegas for the weekend to catch the Pogues!
Have a great weekend.
